History Impacts is a show hosted by Claude T. Martinez. This episode focuses on Clara Barton who became the First President of the American Red Cross. She struggled during her childhood saving her brother at 10. Later she created the first free school in New Jersey but lost her job due to her being a woman. During the Civil War, she was known as the "Angel of The Battlefield." Listen about Clara in this short 6 minute podcast.

History Impacts is a show hosted by Claude T. Martinez. This episode focuses on Sarah Emma Edmonds who impersonated a man during the Civil War as Frank Flint Thompson. The focus on Edmonds disguising herself as a man and enlisting in the military during the Civil War first becoming a nurse and then becoming a Union spy. Her story is one of the little known stories of the Civil War and little knowns stories of amazing women in history.
